It’s Spring!
Did you think the day would come? For awhile there we had our doubts!
Here in Florida- winter is slowly letting loose her grasp on us. The weather here has been incredible… not incredible good… but rather incredible “strange”.
So thank heaven that is behind us.
Now you are probably saying “what a whiner”, or something to that effect, since the worst down here is the best of winter for so many of you up north. On the other hand: Where do you go to escape when there is no escape?
Exactly….we all wish for Florida weather to be nice; here at home in America!
Maybe 2011 will live up to the Florida promise? El Nino- the creator of all of this chaos- will likely weaken this year, but if I can be so selfish to ask, not before it suppresses the hurricane season again this summer? Let’s hope.

“The Perfect Getaway- 2” in Key West…Year Round!
Those of you who follow our antics might recall we built a second Maine Cat 41 (Idylwild) last year for our charter services. Since the issue of her Coast Guard certification to operate- we have had her working in the Bradenton, Sarasota, St. Petersburg area. We decided to take the plunge and go to Americas Year Round Sailing (and partying!) Heaven - Key West!
I don’t know if you have ever been to Key West- but it is a “bucket-list” trip if ever there was one! Now we have one of our beautiful (and beautiful sailing) cats located there all year. We offer a mix of public scheduled and private charters available.
So when in Key West visit us for a Sunset Sail, a daytime adventure or have your own private yacht to entertain friends, family, benefactors and / or co-workers.
Visit www.sailingkeywest.net for more detailed information on our Key West sailing menu.

“The Perfect Getaway” (for the rest of us Non-Conchs)
As usual the flag ship of our enterprise- the Kathleen D,  is soon to be on the move north. Once again, on June 1 she will depart our Florida winter home in Bradenton, FL (west coast between Sarasota and St. Pete on Tampa Bay) for “da Joisey Shore”.
It ain’t all Sopranos in New Jersey, but we can sail you through the very rivers and waterways Tony cruised “Stugatz”, if that is your pleasure. Hey, it’s a small state…wha’ canwesay?
Fortunately Sandy Hook Bay, Upper / Lower NY Harbor, as well as the Two Rivers area of the Shrewsbury and Navesink, are amongst the most scenic and historic you will find on the whole of the Atlantic seaboard.
Our proximity to Manhattan, the Hudson, LI Sound, Block Island and so on, makes for great scenic sailing (and sail training) through exciting and protected waters. We just ask you not to tell everyone about it when you get home. Most of us at the Shore like the world to think it all looks like the opening to the Sopranos and the views from the Jersey Turnpike.
Tom Waits got it right when he wrote: “Cause Down the Shore, Everything’s Alright”. www.kathleend.net & www.sailingsarasota.com & www.sailingstpete.com

Tracey School For Sailing Instruction
Need an adventure? Want to learn how to cruise? Got a special interest in catamarans? Need to learn the basics or refresh your memory?
Learn to Sail!
So here’s the skinny…..we teach these skills year round. We teach on our trip between Florida and New Jersey in spring and back again in autumn. We teach basic sailing and cruising in summers in NJ, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and we teach winters along the Florida Sunshine Coast.
In short: We teach sailing year round.
Tracey School is an ASA Certified Sailing Instruction Facility, the leader in sailing education.
We own, teach and sail on mono-hulls and catamarans.
We specialize in cats. We believe in these vessels and are proud to be a leader in the field of sailing education for catamarans. If you are thinking catamaran you’ve come to the right place!

Whichever flavor of vessel you like- we teach it and offer multiple year round opportunities to get
on board either.
Visit www.traceyschool.com for some good internet surfing and come sailing on one of our cats for some real world surfing!
